 Dutch champion Alcmaria Victrix opens season on the road

Alcmaria Victrix, the surprise champion of the 2012 softball-season, opens the new season this year on Saturday, April 13 with a double-header on the road.
The team from Alkmaar will travel to De Bilt to meet with Centrals, which will return to the big league after having won the Promotion/Relegation Play-Off last season against Twins.
European Cup-winner Oolders Omaco Sparks Haarlem, which was dethroned in the Holland Series by Alcmaria Victrix, also begins on the road and will play a double-header against Tex Town Tigers in Enschede.
Hotel Ambassador c.c. Terrasvogels, which last season catured the European Cup Winners Cup, also starts with an away double-header, meeting Olympia Haarlem.
Gryphons, the fourth team to reach the Play-Offs last season, also starts its season on the road and travels to Vleuten for a double-header against UVV.
That team initially relegated, but remained in the big league after Robur '58, the champion of the 'overgangsklasse', didn't use its right to promote to the highest division.
On Sunday, April 14, the Dutch Junior Softball Team will begin its fourth season in the Dutch big league.
On that date, the team will play a double-header against Alcmaria Victrix.
For the Dutch Juniors, the regular big league-season is part of its preparations for the World Junior Championship in Canada in July.
Last season, Alcmaria Victrix eliminated Gryphons and Hotel Ambassador c.c. Terrasvogels in the Play-Offs, then won the best-of-five Holland Series 3-1 against Oolders Omaco Sparks Haarlem to win the first Dutch title in club-history.
