Sparks Haarlem, Terrasvogels remain unbeaten; First losses Olympia Haarlem
HAARLEM / SANTPOORT / DE BILT / ROSMALEN (Neth.) - League-leader Oolders Omaco Sparks Haarlem won its ninth and tenth game of the season on Saturday (May 3), winning twice vs. Alcmaria Victrix. The first game, in which Sparks Haarlem faced Canadian pitcher Ashley Lanz, was a tough one. The Haarlem-team faced a 2-0 deficit in the first inning, but went on to win 3-2 thanks to two runs in the fourth inning. Game 2 was much easier and ended in a 10-0 victory, highlighted by a homerun off the bat of Saskia Kosterink.

Hotel Ambassador Haarlem Terrasvogels also remained unbeaten and is now 8-0. The team won 3-2 and 5-2 vs. FysioExpert Olympia Haarlem, which lost its first games of the season. In the opener, Terrasvogels trailed 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh, then won on an one-out, walk-off, 2-run single by Lisa Waasdorp. In Game 2, Terrasvogels trailed 2-0, came alongside and then rallied for three runs in the sixth at bat, highlighted by a 2-run triple by Waasdorp.

Centrals and DSS split their double-header. Centrals won the opener 9-2, then DSS took Game 2 with a 13-3 score. In the first game, Centrals trailed 2-0 in the sixth inning, then rallied for nine runs on 10 hits in the home half to end the game through the mercy-rule. In the second game, DSS was productive from the second inning on and produced 12 basehits, including three by Anouk Sassen and Puck van der Kolk, who both also had three RBI's.

UVV won its first two games of the season, winning 1-0 and 12-8 at Gryphons, which now has lost five in a row and is in last place. In the opener, the lone run was scored in the sixth inning on a basesloaded walk. Game 2 was then decided in the first inning thanks to a 7-run rally on six hits, including a 3-run triple by Chelsey Schoenfeldt.
