LOOSDRECHT (Neth.) -
The final of this years Midden-Nederland Cup will be played coming Saturday in Loosdrecht at the site of organisor Hilversum Hurricanes, the club confirmed today (Thursday, April 2).
Last weekend, the annual tournament was originally scheduled.
On Saturday, despite unfavorable weather conditions, all six games could be played to set up the finals for Sunday.
On Sunday, both semi-finals were played.
In those games, UVV won vs. Amsterdam Pirates to reach the final.
In the other semi-final, Centrals outscored Almere '90 to become the second finalist.
But hereafter, the weather conditions worsened.
The game for fifth and sixth place between Hilversum Hurricanes and BioSilk Quick/Red Caps initially started, but was halted in the second inning.
The bronze medal-game and final were then cancelled.
As UVV and Centrals already had a double-header scheduled against each other for coming Saturday, it was decided that this would become an one-game meeting and serve as the new final of the tournament.
Initially, it was announced that both teams would meet again in Loosdrecht, but that was later changed and moved to Vleuten at the site of UVV.
But it has now been confirmed that the final has changed site again and will be played in Loosdrecht at the site of Hilversum Hurricanes.
The final begins at 2 PM.
