Game 1

But while striking out nine and giving up five hits, she saw DSS come alongside in the fifth inning, 2-2. Tex Town Tigers then decided the game in the sixth.

Tex Town Tigers opened the score with two runs in the second inning off of Quincey Catsburg, who went the distance for DSS. With one out, Lindsey Meadows and Laura Wissink hit back-to-back homeruns! With two outs, Daniëlle ten Donkelaar and Cheyenne Scheffer both singled, but were left behind.

After being retired in order in the second and third inning, DSS narrowed the deficit to 2-1 in the fourth inning. Judith van Tiel led off with a single, then scored on a 2-out double by Annemiek de Rover, who stranded herself.

DSS tied the score in the fifth at bat. With one out, Lorraine Kieft reached second base on an error, then scored the tying run when Dominique Burger followed with a double.

Tex Town Tigers then decided the game in the bottom of the sixth inning. With one out, it was Alana Westerhof who hit the third homerun for the home team to make it 3-2. With that, Tex Town Tigers accomplished a rare feat by hitting three homeruns.

Game 2

The second game also offered a lot of suspense. Tex Town Tigers trailed 3-1 in the second inning, then held a 10-3 lead after four, but saw DSS come back to 10-8, leaving the bases loaded in the seventh inning!

Tex Town Tigers opened the score in the first inning when Nadine Marinus led off with a walk, stole second base, moved on a passed ball and scored on a sac-fly by Annemiek Jansen.

DSS then rallied for three runs on three hits in the second inning. Annemiek de Rover led off with a walk and Kelly Koeman singled, then both moved on a sac-bunt by Eva Halman. Hereafter, Madelon Paauwe singled in the tying run. Anouk in den Kleef added another RBI-single, which was followed by an outfield-error and that brought in the third run to give DSS a 3-1 lead.

TTT reacted with one run in its second at bat. Lindsey Meadows and Laura Wissink began with singles. An error on a sac-bunt by Monique Mooi then led to the run. After two strikeouts and first base open, veteran player Nadine Marinus was walked intentionally to set up a force play, but the inning then ended with a pop-fly.

Tex Town Tigers re-took the lead in the third inning by scoring three runs. Annemiek Jansen led off with a walk, stole second base and scored the tying run on a double by Alana Westerhof. With one out, TTT took a 5-3 lead when Laura Wissink hit her second homerun of the day.

In the fourth inning, Tex Town Tigers rallied for five runs on six hits to take an apparent comfortable 10-3 lead. Shaneequa Kock led off with a single, then Annemiek Jansen placed a bunt-single, which was followed by a runscoring throwing error. With Jansen on third base, Alana Westerhof batted her in with a double. With one out, Laura Wissink walked, then a double steal led to the next run. Monique Mooi followed with a runscoring single, which led to a pitching change. Daniëlle ten Donkelaar then singled, as did Nadine Marinus, which brought in the next run and lifted the lead to 10-3.

Tex Town Tigers was three outs away from a 7-run difference, mercy-rule victory, but then DSS scored three runs in the top of the fifth to avoid that. Melissa de Greef reached on an error and Morgan Sampson singled with one out, then both scored on a double by Denice van Dijk. Annemiek de Rover added another single and went on to score on a single by Kelly Koeman.

The suspense arose in the top of the seventh inning when DSS narrowed the deficit to 10-8 and was close to turn the game its way. Denice van Dijk led off with a double, then scored on a single by Annemiek de Rover. A single by Kelly Koeman led to runners on second and third base. Eva Halman followed with another runscoring single that made it 10-8 and led to a pitching change. With runners on first and third base, a foul-out followed, then, with one out, the bases got loaded when Anouk in den Kleef was hit by a pitch. Hereafter, Kock struckout the next batter and the inning and the game ended when she herself caught a foul-fly.
