Pool-alignments announced for European Championships

At the Congress of the European Softball Federation (ESF), the drawing procedure was held to come to the pool-alignments for this years European Championship-tournaments.
The annual Congress is held this weekend (February 7-8) in the Irish capital Dublin, or Baile Átha Cliath, as the city is called in Irish.
Reigning European champion Netherlands opens the 19th European Championship this Summer in Pool A in which its meets Sweden, Germany, Denmark and Israel in the preliminary round.
The European Championship will be held in Rosmalen (Netherlands), which last years hosted the European Junior Championship.
A total of 21 countries will participate in the event, which will take place July 19 through 25.
There wil be three 5-teams pool and one with six teams.
Playing in Pool B will be Russia, Spain, Belgium, Croatia and France.
Pool C is compiled of the Czech Republic, Austria, Ukraine, Poland, Slovenia and Ireland.
In Pool D, Italy meets Great Britain, Slovakia, Switzerland and Bulgaria.
Also announced were the pool alignments for the 8th European Cadets Championship, which will be held in Nuoro on the Italian island of Sardinia, starting on June 29 and ending on July 4.
In this event, there will be four 3-team pools that form the preliminary round.
The Netherlands will play in Pool C and meet Serbia and Israel.
In Pool A the Czech Republic, Great Britain and Italy will meet.
Playing in Pool B are Russia, Slovakia and Spain and in Pool D, Belgium meets Ukraine and Lithuania.
