Talent Team wins twice vs. Alcmaria Victrix

ALKMAAR (Neth.) -
On Sunday-afternoon (May 10), the Talent Team Holland won twice vs. Alcmaria Victrix, which therefore remained winless this season.
The Talent Team won 12-1 and 7-5.

Game 1
In the opener, the Talent Team scored its first run in the first at bat.
Damishah Charles led off with a double, moved on a grounder and scored on a 2-out single by Laura Wissink.
Four runs were added in the third inning that gave the Talent Team a 5-0 lead.
The team was led in this game by Sandra Catoen, who filled in for Head Coach Mary-Ann Hatt, who had to sit out an one-game suspension.
In the third at bat, Annemiek Jansen led off with a walk and Rachel van Veen singled.
The two advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Manoa Weijgertse.
Laura Wissink then singled in a run.
Later in the at bat, a run was scored on a basesloaded walk for Wies Ligtvoet, then two runs were scored when a (sacrifice) fly by Isa Los was missed in the outfield.
A 5-run rally followed in the fourth inning.
With one out, Rachel van Veen singled and Manoa Weijgertse doubled.
To set up a force play, Laura Wissink was walked intentionally.
Hereafter, Lizzie Clarijs singled in two runs, which led to a pitching change.
A single by Wies Ligtvoet and 2-run single by Brenda Beers then made it a 10-0 score.
Alcmaria then scored its lone run in the bottom of the fourth inning when Alyssa Dronenburg led off with a homerun.
The Talent Team regained the 10-run difference in the top of the fifth inning, thanks to a single by Rhowan Stuart and a sacrifice fly by Wies Ligtvoet (which ended in a double play).

Game 2
The second game was much closer.
Alcmaria Victrix trailed twice, but came alongside both times.
Trailing 5-2, it narrowed the deficit to 5-4 and kept on coming back, but ended up empty-handed again.
In the first inning, Annemiek Jansen led off with a double for the Talent Team and scored the first run on an error.
Alcmaria came alongside in its first at bat when Quita Borst singled with one out and scored on a double by Alyssa Dronenburg.
In the third, Dervisa Mutic tripled with two outs and scored on a single by Rhowan Stuart to put the Talents ahead 2-1.
But Alcmaria again came alongside in the bottom of the third when Katy Moore led off with a triple and scored on a sac-fly by Quita Borst.
The Juniors then took more distance in the fifth inning, scoring three runs to take the lead for good.
With two outs, a single by Manoa Weijgertse singled in a run, then an error and wild pitch accounted for the next two runs to make it 5-2.
In the bottom of the fifth, Alcmaria got two runs back.
The team got the bases loaded, then a run was scored when Nikita Bing singled, followed by a runscoring wild pitch.
The Talent Team added two insurance runs in the sixth inning, which were both scored on a double by Rachel van Veen.
Alcmaria managed to score another run in its sixth via double by Alyssa Dronenburg, but was left empty-handed again.
