The first three innings of tonight's game remained scoreless, as both starting pitchers held each other in balance.
Melissa Burger started for UVV and allowed only two batters to reach base.
In the first inning, she walked Jenny Kinburn with one out, but then retired six batters in a row.
In the third, with one out, she gave up a single to Samoyra Staal.
Nadine van Roode started for Ban-Topa and allowed three players to reach base.
In the second inning, with one out, she walked Misja Koops, then gave up a double to Marleen van Gasteren.
Koops tried to score, but was thrown out at the plate.
In the third, with two outs, Laura Arp walked, but stranded.
But Ban-Topa then opened the score with one run in the fourth at bat when Jeaniven Sophia led off with a single and scored on a 2-out double by Ylaine van de Hove.
Ban-Topa then took more distance thanks to a 4-run rally in the fifth.
Kelly Platvoet and Samoyra Staal led off with walks, then Hanneke Vermeulen was brought in as new pitcher.
She gave up a single to Emily Stenzler that loaded the bases.
Hereafter, Jenny Kinburn and Jeaniven Sophia hit back-to-back doubles, each batting in two runs to make it 5-1.
Four more runs were added in the sixth.
With one out and Stenzler on first base, Kinburn singled, then Sophia hit another 2-run double.
A walk for Alyssa Dronenburg and a single by Shirley Jacobs then loaded the bases.
Next, a basesloaded walk for Ylaine van de Hove and grounder by Nadine van Roode brought in the next two runs to lift the lead to 9-0.
UVV left a runner at first base in the fourth and fifth inning, then scored twice in the sixth.
With two outs and Helma Pluim on first base, Misja Koops singled.
A single by Marleen van Gasteren then produced UVV's first run.
After a double-steal, the bases got loaded when Michelle van Waveren walked.
Shirley Jacobs then took over the pitching, but walked Bente Erkelens that led to an automatic run and narrowed the deficit to 9-2.
But hereafter, a grounder ended the inning.
And with that, the game also ended via the mercy-rule, as the run-difference was seven.
