Game 2

In today's second game, Euro Stars led 6-3 when the seventh inning started, but then Centrals rallied for five runs to win 8-6.

Initially, Euro Stars was the better team, as it led 5-0 after three innings. The team scored three runs in the first at bat off of Cheyenne Bumpus. Onaisha Franka then led off with a walk, moved on a wild pitch and a passed ball, then scored on an one-out single by Kirsten Molle. The latter then advanced on another passed ball and scored on a single by Wendy van der Hoeven, who later scored on a sacrifice fly by Davinia de Kwant.

Two runs were added in the third at bat. Onaisha Franka then walked, moved on a sacrifice bunt by Manon Hogenes and scored on a single by Kirsten Molle, who went on to score the next run on a 2-out single by Davinia de Kwant.

Euro Stars-starter Shomayra Franka allowed only two batters to reach base in the first three innings. She then gave up two runs in the fourth inning. With one out, Stephanie Pearce doubled and scored on a passed ball. Next batter Simone Meerkerk walked and went on to score on a 2-out single by Sara Moulton, which loaded the bases. But a strikeout then ended the bat, stranding the three runners.

Centrals narrowed the deficit to 5-3 by scoring a run in the sixth. Petya Sokolová then led off with a single and scored on a following single by Cheyenne Bumpus.

Euro Stars got the run back in its sixth at bat when Eliza van 't Zelfde singled with two outs and scored on a double by Kimberly Matulessy.

Centrals then turned the game its way with a 5-run rally in the top of the seventh to turn a 6-3 deficit into an 8-6 lead. Lead-off hitter Laura Bakker reached on an error, then Stephanie Pearce singled, which led to a pitching change. Another error during a steal-attempt then led to a run and a runner at third base. Hereafter, pinch-hitter Franka van Dijk delivered a runscoring triple to make it 6-5. Moments later, Van Dijk scored the tying run on a grounder by Sarah Rosenbarker, which led to a throw to home plate, but no out was made. A double by Petya Sokolová followed. On a following grounder by Cheyenne Bumpus, it again was attempted to eliminate the runner at home plate. But for the second time, the team wasn't successful and so Centrals took a 7-6 lead. The team from De Bilt then added an insurance run on a grounder by Jasmin Carlson.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Sara Moulton took over the pitching for Centrals. She retired the side and ended with two strikeouts to secure the win and earn a save.
