Game 2
Terrasvogels had a productive start, scoring one run in the first at bat off of Kirsten Scheele.
With one out, Ella Krommendijk singled, then Jessie van Aalst walked.
Krommendijk was then forced out at third base on a comeback-grounder by Marisèla de Wind, but Lizzie Clarijs then followed with a runscoring single to give Terrasvogels an early lead.
After being retired in order in the second, Terrasvogels added two runs in the third inning.
Kimberly Jones led off with a bunt-single, but was forced out on a bunt by Ella Krommendijk.
The latter then went on to score the second run when Jessie van Aalst followed with a double.
A single by Marisèla de Wind then brought Van Aalst to third base and she scored on a force play-grounder by Lizzie Clarijs to make it 3-0.
Sparks Haarlem was retired in order in the first inning, then left two runners in the second inning off of starter Ginger de Weert.
In the bottom of the third inning, the home team trailed 3-0 and that didn't happen that much in the past years.
However, Sparks Haarlem got two long balls in this inning, accounting for three runs to make it a new ballgame again.
Kiki Draaijer led off with a single, then Chantal Versluis homered to right-center to narrow the deficit to 3-2.
With one out, Areke Spel also homered to make it a 3-3 tie.
That led to a pitching change, as Malou van Dusschoten took over the pitching for De Weert.
She walked three batters, but also struckout a batter in between, then Sparks left the bases loaded when a flyout ended the inning.
In the fourth inning, Sparks Haarlem added two runs to take a 5-3 lead.
With one out, Chantal Versluis walked and stole second base, then advanced on an infield-hit by Anne Blaauwgeers and scored on a sac-fly by Areke Spel.
Blaauwgeers went on to score the next run when Virginie Anneveld reached on an error.
Terrasvogels was unable to turn the game its way again.
It left a runner in both fourth and fifth inning, then was retired in order by Dagmar Bloeming when she took over the pitching in the sixth.
In the seventh, Kimberly Jones singled with one out, but then Bloeming closed with two strikeouts to earn a save.
