Game 1

In the opener, Centrals shutout Gryphons 7-0 in a 6-inning game behind strong pitcher of American Sara Moulton. She struckout eleven batters and pitched an one-hitter. After having retired the first ten batters she faced, her Perfect Game ended when Kehli Washington reached on an error. Her No-Hitter ended in the fifth inning when Carlinde Altorf singled with one out. Washington ended up on second base after the error, then advanced to third base on a sacrifice bunt by Charlotte Drijvers, but then stranded. Altorf stole second base after her single, but also was left behind.

Centrals opened the score with one run in the first inning. Stephanie Pearce walked with one out and stole second base, then scored when Franka van Dijk followed with a triple.

The second run was added in the third inning. With one out, Franka van Dijk singled, moved on a wild pitch and a grounder, then scored on a single by Laura Bakker.

Centrals increased the lead with two more runs in the fourth inning. The bases got loaded when lead-off hitter Emma Wojcík was hit by a pitch, Sara Moulton reached on an error and Simone Meerkerk walked. With one out, Stephanie Pearce singled to bring in a run. Hereafter, Moulton was forced out at home on a grounder by Franka van Dijk, but then the next run was scored when Petya Sokolová was hit by a pitch. A strikeout followed, meaning three runners were left behind.

In the fifth, Centrals made it 6-0 by scoring two more runs. Pinch-hitter Sarah Rosenbarker and Emma Wojcík then both walked, advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Sara Moulton and went on to score on a 2-out single by Jasmin Carlson.

The 7-run difference was reached in the sixth inning. Franka van Dijk then led off with a single, moved on a sac-bunt by Petya Sokolová and scored on a walk-off single by Laura Bakker.

Trailing 3-0, Centrals got a chance to do something back in the fifth inning. Emma Bosman led off with a single, then Nina Ceulemans and Petya Sokolová both reached on a bunt-single to load the bases. Hereafter, Emma Holden struckout the next batter.
