Game 1
In an exciting and suspenseful opening game, HCAW won 2-1 in eight inning to hand Ban-Topa Future Stars its first loss of the season.
In the first inning, HCAW took an 1-0 lead.
With one out, Kaylee Fortilus singled and moved on a grounder by Laura van Essen.
She then scored when Anouk Sassen followed with a single.
Ban-Topa came alongside in the second at bat.
With one out, Ylaine van de Hove doubled and advanced to third base on a single by Nadine van Roode.
After the latter moved to second base on a fielder's choice, the tying run was scored on a grounder by Kelly Platvoet, but the team then left a runner on third base.
In the next five innings, both teams got runners in scoring position, but were unable to score.
For Ban-Topa, Lee Ann Craanberg led off the third inning with a triple, but stranded.
In the fourth, the Amsterdam-squad left two runners.
HCAW-pitcher Ilona Marcelis retired seven batters in a row from the fourth through sixth inning.
She then gave up a lead-off double in the seventh to Kelly Platvoet, but her pinch-runner was caught stealing.
HCAW got the bases loaded in the third inning.
With two outs, Kaylee Fortilus reached on an error, then Laura van Essen doubled.
To set up a force play, Anouk Sassen was walked intentionally to load the bases, but then a flyout ended the inning.
After walking lead-off hitter Wendy Bierman in the fourth inning, Ban-Topa starter Nadine van Roode retired nine batters in a row.
In the seventh inning, Lee Ann Craanberg took over the pitching for Ban-Topa and saw HCAW get the bases loaded again.
Pinch-hitter Odette Kuipers led off with a walk, then Ilona Marcelis reached on an error.
With one out, a throwing error followed on a double steal, then Dervisa Mutic was walked intentionally to load the bases.
A pop-fly and force out ended the inning, meaning the game went into extra innings.
For Ban-Topa, with Lee Ann Craanberg being the tie-break runner, Jeaniven Sophia walked with two outs, but the team left two runners behind.
In HCAW's eighth at bat, Laura van Essen was the tie-break runner.

Moments later, HCAW scored the winning run when next batter Wendy Bierman was hit by a pitch.
