Game 1

Twins-starter Michelle Edgtton gave up a 2-out single to Maxime Scheffer in the first, but that was Almere's lone basehit in the first three at bats. In the third, the Australian hurler got three outs, having retired the last seven batters in a row.

And then, the bottom of the third inning began. When the at bat finally ended, Twins was leading 11-0! There were eight basehits in this inning, including three extra basehits. All nine starting players reached base and scored a run in the inning. Femke Duffhues and Kate Geldof scored twice in the inning, the latter had two singles, while Sandy Lauwers hit two doubles and Noor Godefroy homered.

It all began with a bunt-single by Kate Geldof, who then scored when an error was made on a grounder by Femke Duffhues, who ended up on third base. Manon van Alebeek then walked and with one out, Sandy Lauwers delivered a 2-run double, but also scored herself when an outfield-error followed. Next, Michelle Edgtton walked and went on to score on a single by Minke Blok, which led to a pitching change. New pitcher Merel Boers was greeted with a 2-run homerun by Noor Godefroy and so, the rally continued. Tammie Lijbers followed with a single and scored on the second single in the inning by Kate Geldof. Femke Duffhues again reached on an error and a grounder by Manon van Alebeek led to the next run. A single by Lieke Duffhues and the second double by Sandy Lauwers then lifted the lead to 11-0.

Twins wasn't done scoring yet, as it added another run in the fourth inning. Minke Blok reached on an error, then Noor Godefroy singled. The run was then scored in a double steal-situation.

Almere '90 scored its two runs in the top of the fourth inning off of reliever Sheila van der Tang. Merel Boers led off with a single, then the bases got loaded with one out when Kelsy Pieneman also singled and Britt Remmers (a former Twin) walked. An error on a force play-grounder by Shawna van der Schouw and a single by Mandy Pieneman then led to the runs, but that was to be all for Almere '90.

Game 2

Twins also won the second game through the mercy-rule and ended it with a walk-off homerun by Sandy Lauwers.

But this game was much closer in the first three innings. Twins opened the score with three unearned runs in the second inning. Sandy Lauwers led off with a single and stole second base. With one out, an error followed on a grounder by Kelly De Lannoy, resulting in the first run. Minke Blok then walked and an error on a grounder by Noor Godefroy brought in the next two runs.

Almere '90 came alongside in the third inning and these three runs also were unearned. Suzanne Poelgeest led off with a single. With one out, a throwing error was made on a force play-grounder by Maxime Scheffer. Another error on a grounder by Shanna te Vrede and a passed ball led to the first two runs. A single by Kelsy Pieneman tied the score.

Twins immediately reacted with two runs in the bottom of the third. With two outs, Sandy Lauwers and Michelle Edgtton hit back-to-back doubles to give Twins a renewed lead. A single by Kelly De Lannoy then made it 5-3.

Two more runs were added in the fourth inning. With one out, Femke Duffhues tripled, but then was eliminated at the plate on a following grounder by Manon van Alebeek. Lieke Duffhues then singled and a passed ball gave Twins another run. With Duffhues on third base, Sandy Lauwers walked. In this situation, the latter took off for second base and got in a rundown, but Duffhues scored before Lauwers was tagged out.

In the fifth inning, Twins again scored twice. Michelle Edgtton led off with a double and went on to score when Kelly De Lannoy reached on an error. The latter then scored on a 2-out single by Tammie Lijbers.

Almere was held scoreless after the third inning. The team got a scoring opportunity in the fifth when it got the bases loaded with two outs. Shanna te Vrede then single, followed by a walk for Kelsy Pieneman and a single by Britt Remmers. But they then all stranded.

Leading 9-3, Twins needed only one run to end the game via the mercy-rule and that came in the sixth. Renée Adriaanse took over the pitching for Almere and got one out. But then, Sandy Lauwers, who was 3-for-3, homered to end the game.
