During the tranfer-period, which ended on November 15, Sandra Gouverneur was still the Head Coach of the team.
She was to be assisted this year by Marlon Comenencia, while Mirjam Soumokil was to be the Pitching Coach.
However, in December Gouverneur stepped down as Head Coach and Soumokil also will not return.
Around December 22, Amsterdam Pirates announced that Hubert Bomba was named new Head Coach.
A Pitching Coach and a Team Manager will be added later.
Bomba's daughter Angelica Bomba plays for Amsterdam Pirates since last year.
Hubert Bomba initially was to return as Assistant Coach of UVV, which will make its comeback in the highest division this year.
Last year, Bomba was one of the assistants of Head Coach Robin Stoevelaar, who will also head the team this season.
In 2022, UVV finished in second place in the First Division and promoted to the highest league.
Hubert Bomba played in the highest baseball-league for Quick Amersfoort in 1976-1983 as outfielder.
Later, when the team had relegated and played at a lower level, Bomba was one of the coaches.
After having retired as baseball-player, Bomba continued his playing career in softball and with Antillian Stars he played several seasons in the highest men's softball-league.
He returned to the highest baseball-league in 2010 when he was an Assistant Coach at Almere Magpies.
Two years later (2012), Bomba was the 1B Coach of the baseball-team of HCAW in the big league when that team was led by Rudy Dirksen.
In 2013, Bomba made his debut as coach in the women's big league when he was the Head Coach of UVV, which in that year also made a comeback.
Bomba also led UVV in 2014 and 2015.
In the first two seasons, he was assisted by Sanne Bolhuis.
In his first season at UVV, the team had to play in the Promotion/Relegation Play-Off.
UVV came to a 3-game sweep in this best-of-five against...Amsterdam Pirates, Bomba's current team.
In his second season, Bomba led UVV to the Play-Offs, as the team finished in fourth place.
However, there was a weird format that season, as only the three best teams would secure themselves of a spot in the new Golden League, which would make its debut in 2015.
In the first round of the Play-Offs, fourth-placed UVV faced first-placed Olympia Haarlem and lost the best-of-three.
With that, the team had to play in the six-team Golden League Qualifying Round with only three teams advancing to the new highest league.
UVV ended in a tie for third place with Tex Town Tigers.
UVV then lost a tiebreaker against TTT with an 8-5 score and so, despite reaching the Play-Offs, UVV played in the second highest league (the new Silver League) in 2015.
Bomba returned as Head Coach of UVV in 2015 and then was re-united with Rudy Dirksen, with whom he had coached the baseball-team of HCAW three years earlier.
In 2019-2020, Hubert Bomba was the 1B Coach of the softball-team of Quick Amersfoort in the staff of Head Coach Sanne Bolhuis, who earlier had been his assistant at UVV.
In 2020, Quick Amersfoort made its debut in the big league.
After the 2020 season, Bomba joined the coaching-staff of UVV.
Sandra Gouverneur shared Head Coach-duties with Erik Boland at Amsterdam Pirates in 2020 and the team then finished in seventh place in the big league.
She was then to be an Assistant Coach in 2021, but instead was not active in that season when the team also finished seventh.
Last year, Gouverneur returned and then was the Head Coach of Pirates, being assisted by Marlon Comenencia, Jeff Delfina and Mirjam Soumokil.
Again, Pirates finished in seventh place.
After the season, Delfina stopped as Assistant Coach.
