  Dashenko Ricardo also signs contract

 PHOENIX, Arizona (USA) -
Dashenko Ricardo, catcher of the Dutch Baseball Team, also signed a new contract for the upcoming season on Thursday, March 14.
The 23-year old Ricardo, who was a Free Agent, signed a Minor League-contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
On the same day, first baseman Curt Smith signed with the Minnesota Twins.

Last season, Ricardo played in 47 games for the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, the Single-A Short Season team of the San Francisco Giants.
There, he batted .253 with 41 basehits, 13 runs scored, 17 RBI's and two homeruns.
Ricardo made his professional debut in 2007 playing for the Rookie League-team of the Baltimore Orioles in the Dominican Summer League.
The catcher went on to play in the Orioles-organisation through the 2010 season.
In 2009, he promoted to Single-A, which is the highest level he has reached so far in his professional career.
After the 2010 season, Ricardo signed with the Giants and then played in the Rookie League in 2011, followed by Single-A Short Season in 2012.
