In another attractive and suspenseful game, there again was solid pitching and two teams that didn't gave way much.
Both starting pitchers held their opponent scoreless in the first three innings.
As tonight was the fourth game, the rule states that a foreign pitcher had to be the starter.
For home-playing Parma, Dominican Emailin Montilla made his first appearance, as did Venezuelan Carlos Quevedo Viso for the visiting San Marino-team.

Montilla played professionally in Japan in 2019-2020 for Hiroshima Toyo Carp.
In the following winter-seasons (2019-2020, 2020-2021), he played in the Dominican Republic.
Veteran Quevedo plays professionally since 2007, including seven Minor League-seasons in the Houston Astros-organization (2007-2013).
He also annually played in the Venezuelan Winter League since 2008.
Quevedo first played in Italy in 2015 when he was with Padova.
Since 2016, Quevedo pitches for San Marino.
In the past few years, Quevedo also pitched against Dutch teams during the European Champions Cuptournaments.
In 2017, he was the losing pitcher against L&D Amsterdam Pirates.
In 2018, he lost to both Pirates and Curaçao Neptunus.
San Marino got its first baserunners in the top of the second inning.
Three batters then reached base, but two were forced out at second base and none came into scoring position.
In the top of the third, with two outs, José Ferrini Colmenarez reached second base on a throwing error, but also stranded there.
Parma left a runner behind on first base in the first inning, then came into scoring position for the first time in the second at bat.
With one out, Cesare Astorri reached on an infield-hit and moved on a grounder, but was left behind.
In the third inning, Tommaso Battioni led off with a walk and advanced via a sacrifice bunt by Stefano Desimoni, but also stranded on second base.
Both teams then scored in the fourth inning.
In the top of the fourth, Oscar Angulo Gamez led off with a walk and advanced to third base on a single by Gabriel Linoy Correa.
When the latter was forced out on a grounder by Jesus Ustariz Luis, Angulo scored to put San Marino ahead.
The lead was shortlived, as Parma came alongside in its fourth at bat.
Alberto Mineo led off with a single and moved to second base when an outfield-error followed.
With one out, he scored the tying run on a single by Cesare Astorri.
After the latter moved to second base on a grounder, a pitching change followed.
Henry Centeno Guiterrez took over and walked the next batter intentionally to set up a force play.
But Centeno settled things himself and closed the at bat with a strikeout.

In the fifth inning, both teams got a runner with two outs.
For San Marino, Erick Epifano Duran singled, for Parma Noel Gonzalez Sanamé walked.
Both stranded on first base, as both at bats ended with a strikeout.
In the top of the sixth, Emailin Montilla had another fine inning, as he struckout three batters.
With two outs, he gave up a single to Gabriel Lino Correa, but the lefthander then closed with his ninth strikeout.
In the meantime, it had started to rain.
But halfway the sixth inning, the rain became much heavier and a 21-minute delay followed.
Although it still rained (but less heavier), the game resumed after that delay.
In the bottom of the sixth, Henry Centeno Guiterrez struckout the first two batters, but then gave up a single to Leomartires Rodríguez Reyes and walked Riccardo Flisi.
As the rain picked up again, another interruption followed.
This time, the rain-delay lasted 24 minutes.
After this longer delay and maintenance work had be done to the field, the game was resumed again.
Centeno returned to the mound and got an inning-ending flyout.
In the top of the seventh, José Diaz Lezama took over the pitching for Parma.
With that, both starting pitchers of Game 1 now were in the game.
Diaz gave up a lead-off single to Nathanael Batista De Jesus, but followed with two strikeouts.
A grounder ended the at bat.
Parma then struck in the bottom of the seventh.
With one out, Exequiel Talevi singled and moved into scoring position when that was followed by a throwing error.
With first base open, Noel Gonzalez Sanamé was walked intentionally to create a force play.
But next batter Alberto Mineo hit the ball into right-centerfield for a walk-off single.
Talevi scored and Parma won 2-1 to equal the Series for the second time.
