In today's game, starting pitchers Jurjen van Zijl (UVV) and Diegomar Markwell held each other in balance in the first five innings.
Neptunus got into scoring position only once, while hitting only two basehits in these first five at bats.
UVV was held to only one basehit by Markwell and also got into scoring position only once.
For Neptunus, Shaldimar Daantji registered the first basehit with one out in the third inning.
He stranded, as Van Zijl followed with a strikeout, then a flyout ended the at bat.

In the fourth inning, Neptunus got into scoring position for the first time.
With one out, Gianison Boekhoudt walked and moved when Rien Vernooij was hit by a pitch with two outs.
Next batter Shurman Marlin then lined out to pitcher Van Zijl to end the inning.
In the fifth inning, the UVV-defense turned a double play to support its pitcher.
Hereafter, Van Zijl threw two more innings to become the first pitcher in this exhibition season to throw seven innings in one game.
UVV got into scoring position for the first time in the second inning off of Markwell.
Brennan Nijhof led off with a walk and advanced on a sacrifice bunt by rookie Friso Spruit.
But then two grounders followed.
In the third inning, Markwell struckout the side.
In the fourth, the lefthander gave up his first basehit, when Nijhof singled with two outs, but he was left at first base.
In the top of the sixth inning, with two outs, Boekhoudt reached for Neptunus on an error and was awarded second base on a balk to become only the second runner of the Rotterdam-club to get into scoring position.
But he also stranded.
In the bottom of the sixth, Berry van Driel took over the pitching for Neptunus and retired the side, including two strikeouts.
Neptunus then decided the game in the top of the seventh inning, scoring four runs off of Van Zijl.
Rien Vernooij and Shurman Marlin led off with back-to-back doubles to open the score.
Hereafter, Urving Kemp homered to make it 3-0.
With one out, Adrian Anthony also doubled.
Anthony moved to third base when Benjamin Dille singled, then scored on a 2-out single by Gianison Boekhoudt.
Van Driel also got three outs in a row in the bottom of the seventh.
He then gave up a lead-off single to Sam van Dijck in the eighth, but he was forced out.
Neptunus had left another runner on second base in the top of the eighth after Urving Kemp had singled with two outs and then had stolen second base.
In the ninth, Neptunus got on base again with two outs.
Raily Legito and Mourik Huijser then singled, but stranded.
UVV got its final chance to score a run in the ninth.
With one out, Omar Williams walked and moved on a grounder, but then was left behind.
