Like the day before, the game remained scoreless in the first five innings.
And again, both starting pitchers did a fine job keeping each other in balance.
Neptunus-starter Orlando Yntema pitched four hitless innings, while UVV-starter Jim Ploeger gave up only one hit in his five innings, striking out five batters.
Yntema retired the first ten batters he faced.
He then walked Joris van Ballegooy, who advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Tony Enos.
An error on a grounder by Gilmer Lampe led to runners on first and third base, but a flyout prevented UVV from scoring.
