Game 1
Euro Stars was off to a good start in the opening game of the new season.
Onaisha Franka led off the game with a double, then scored when Rachel Schouten singled with one out.
The latter then got into scoring position via a sacrifce bunt by Davinia de Kwant, but stranded.
But that was all that Twins-pitcher Michelle Edgtton would allow.
After giving up the run, the Australian hurler retired all next 18 batters she faced in a row!
Only four of these outs were made in the outfield, while six batters struckout.
The remaining eight outs were made in the infield.
And so, Edgtton dominated, but nevertheless faced a quick deficit.
This was erased immediately in home half of the first inning of Twins.
Femke Duffhues led off with a bunt-single, moved on a sacrifice bunt by Manon van Alebeek, then advanced to third base on a grounder by Lieke Duffhues.
An infield-hit by Sandy Lauwers then tied the score.
Twins stranded a runner in scoring position in the second inning, then was retired in order in the third by Shomayra Franka, who pitched a fine game for Euro Stars.
Twins took a 3-1 lead in the fourth by scoring twice.
Sandy Lauwers led off with a single and moved on a sacrifice bunt by Minke Blok.
After the first had stolen third base, Michelle Edgtton was walked intentionally to set up a force play.
But hereafter, Noor Godefroy followed with a single that brought in Lauwers, while Edgtton moved to third base.
She then scored an insurance run on a sacrifice fly by Kelly De Lannoy to make it 3-1.
In the bottom of the sixth, Twins had another runner in scoring position, but then Euro Stars turned a double play.
With one out in the top of the seventh, the game was halted due to the rain and didn't resume anymore.
