With one out, Jenny Kinburn and Jeaniven Sophia hit back-to-back doubles that produced the first run.
A single followed by American Alyssa Dronenburg, who in 2012 played for UVV in the Dutch big league.
A sacrifice fly by Shirley Jacobs then made it 2-0.
UVV answered with a 4-run rally in its first at bat.
Laura Arp led off with a triple and scored on a passed ball.
Naomi Andringa and Kirsten Vierdag then both singled and moved on a grounder.
A new passed ball then equaled the score and UVV got the bases loaded when Marleen van Gasteren and Misja Koops both walked.
With two ous, Renske de Leeuw delivered a 2-run single to give UVV a 4-2 lead.
That lead was shortlived, as Ban-Topa scored three unearned runs in the next inning.
With one out, Samoyra Staal doubled, then Emily Stenzler reached on an error.
With two outs, Jeaniven Sophia connected well and hit a 3-run homerun to give her team a renewed lead.
Some years ago, she had played in the Dutch big league for one season with Zwijndrecht.
Ban-Topa added a run in the fourth thanks to an RBI-double by Sophia, but the team also left the bases loaded.
Trailing 6-4, UVV scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 7-6 lead.
Renske de Leeuw singled and moved on a wild pitch, then scored on a following single by Bente Erkelens.
The latter then scored the tying run when a hit into the outfield by Laura Arp ended in an error.
With one out, a single by Kirsten Vierdag brought in Arp to give UV a 7-6 lead and that also led to a pitching change.
Nadine van Roode took over from Shirley Jacobs and she ended the inning, while UVV left runners on second and third base.
After a scoreless fifth inning, Ban-Topa struck with four runs with two outs in the sixth inning, this time to take the lead for good.
With one out, Jeaniven Sophia (who was 4-for-4) singled, as did Shirley Jacobs with two outs.
A single by Ylaine van den Hove then brought in the tying run and a following single by Kelly Platvoet then gave Ban-Topa the lead for the third time in this game.
An error on a grounder by Nadine van Roode then led to the next run.
Platvoet, who has played for four different teams in the Dutch big league in the past, then scored the tenth run for Ban-Topa after a passed ball.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, UVV started well, but ended up one run short.
Laura Arp led off with a walk, moved on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Naomi Andringa.
The latter then scored on an one-out grounder by Helma Pluim to narrow the deficit to 10-9, but another grounder ended the inning.
The seventh inning then went underway, but with two outs, the game was stopped because of the rain and didn't resume anymore.
